Chennai Murder Case:
A 24-year-old software engineer named R. Nandhini was brutally murdered in Thalambur, Kelambakkam, on the southern outskirts of Chennai, on the eve of her birthday. The victim was allegedly chained, cut, and burned alive by the assailant, a former classmate who had undergone a sex change process in order to marry the assailant.
Chennai murder case: The Tambaram Police Commissionerate arrested a 26-year-old person accused of murdering his 24-year-old friend on the night of December 23.
Vetrimaran, a 26-year-old MBA graduate who was formerly known as Pandi Murugeshwari, was arrested by the police in connection with the murder.
Vetrimaran, the suspect, and the victim were friends since they both attended the same ‘girls’ school at Madhurai. Nandhini and Vetrimaran’s relationship became strained because Nandhini rejected his proposals. They communicated somewhat over time, despite the damage. The Times of India announced.
Nandhini got a job in Chennai eight months before the murder, and she lived there with her uncle. Vetrimaran reached out to Nandhini a day before her birthday on the pretext of celebrating her birthday and giving her gifts, and he invited her to spend time with him.
While they met, the transexual man gave her new clothes and took her to an orphanage in the vicinity of Tambalam, where they made a donation. Later on, the seemingly normal outing took a terrible and horrific turn. He suggested that he drop her off later and stop at a faraway Ponmar spot while traveling. Veermaran demanded that Nandhini pose for photographs in the solitary area. While assuring her that it was only for entertainment, he removed the chains from his bike and tied her hands.
He later refused to release Nandhini, despite her protests. He cut her neck and arms with a knife, after which he poured petrol all over her and lit her on fire.
Vetrimaran committed the heinous act and fled the crime scene. Nandhini, fighting for her life, was found by locals, who immediately contacted the police. She provided Vetrimaran’s contact number to those who found her in an attempt to save herself.
They took her to a nearby private hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Thalambur police sent the body to the Chromepet Government Hospital for a postmortem.
