Bengaluru Pride march-“Azadi” slogan raised:
The Nammad Pride March held in city of Bangalore. This march is held every year to campaign for equal rights for the members of the queer community.
Thousands of people from across the country participated in the march happening near Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium on Sunday. It was not just the march but the slogans and the chants which was raised became the question and the talk of the days.
A video from the march is circulating over the internet where the participants are marching with pride flags and placards and one of then raised a slogan of ‘azadi’. Soon enough other participants joined.
‘Hindutva se aazadi’
‘Manuvaad se aazadi’
‘Brahmanvaad se aazadi’
Social media uses are raising criticism about slogans ans azadi chant “what is the need of chant in this march”
A user asked “A video of Bengaluru’s Pride March where slogan of ‘Hindutva se aazadi’ are being raised. What’s the relevance of this slogan in a march like this? Who’s agenda are y’all trying to spread in the name of ‘gender equality’?
The ‘aazadi’ chant raised again:(Bengaluru Pride March )
Last this ‘aazadi’ chant was raised in 2016 by a JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) student named Kanhaiya Kumar. Hindustan Times reported back in 2016 that, the chant was originated by a feminist Kamla Bhasin against the patriarchy. “Meri behen mange aazadi, meri bacchi mange aazadi, naari ka naara aazadi”, this was the chant that was started by Kamla Bhasin.
This parade is organised for a community and we support the thought, asking for equality and social equality can never be a negative thing in a nation BUT Targeting a religion and another community is wrong and fundamentally wrong. Either it’s Hindu, Muslim, Christian, and all the respected religions, there should not be this kind of disgracing be promoted. These kind of actions always lead to bad result and alot of hatred agains all the communities.
In short word, if this is what you all are doing then you are not asking for equality rather spreading hatred.
